ALERT |
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is warning consumers, businesses and financial institutions to be aware of fraudulent e-mails allegedly from the Federal Reserve Bank. The fraudulent e-mails claim that a phishing attack has affected the Fedwire system and that restrictions are in place. The e-mails further instruct recipients to click on links within the e-mail for additional information.
The fraudulent e-mails have included various spoofed names and addresses in the "From:" line of the messages, including "Bank System Administration," "System Administration" and "Federal Reserve Bank." [Read alert on our BIB login page] |

NOTICE TO BUSINESS INTERNET BANKING OUTGOING WIRE USERS:
The last step in completing Wire entry templates involves either TRANSMITTING the wire, or SUBMITTING FOR APPROVAL. Occasionally, users without the authority to TRANSMIT wires, submit the wires for future approval, and the wires remain in the TRANSMIT queue until action is taken (i.e. by the ADMIN user, or a user with authority to transmit wires).
ALERTS: You can set up alerts for “Wire Transfer Approvals Pending” through ADMINISTRATION / VIEW RECEIVED MAIL & ALERTS / MANAGE ACCOUNT RELATED ALERTS
The “WIRE TRANSFER APPROVAL PENDING” alert notifies you when there is an account that has a Wire Transfer approval pending for which you are an approver.
NOTE: Upon TRANSMITTING a wire, please note that the confirmation number you receive serves to verify that the wire was sent to the bank for processing. If you do not receive the IMAD number back by email from the bank within 1.5 hours after wire transmission, please contact your Account Officer. (NOTE: The IMAD number is the confirmation number that First National Bank of Central Florida will email you after the wire is transmitted to the Federal Reserve for processing.)
